Welcome

Preservation Technologies, L.P. has successfully treated millions of items for libraries and archives throughout the world. Canadian institutions have comprised one of the most significant constituencies, with customers such as the Bibliothéque nationale du Québec, the National Library and Archives of Canada and Whitehern — City of Hamilton Museums. Libraries and archival repositories of all types across Canada also utilize the Bookkeeper® spray system, installed for treatment in-house.

In order to better serve the preservation needs and interests of Canada’s libraries and archives, Preservation Technologies Canada was established in Gatinueau, Quebec in 2004. This secure facility features the patented Bookkeeper process and equipment capable of handling books, scores, archival documents, and oversized material such as bound and unbound newspapers.

Preservation Technologies continually refines processes in response to the needs of our customers. Proprietary software tracks the location of each item throughout all stages of treatment and preserves arrangement and original order. The Bookkeeper® chemistry is proven safe / suitable for all paper-based materials, and will not cause any fading, running, or transfer of inks. Our logistics and facility are designed to provide the maximum amount of security for all materials while in transit and on site.
